Expedition completed

Our expedition is now at an end after yet another busy day at the South Pole with Norwegian and international media. Public interest in the last few days has been overwhelming.

The live broadcast and link-up with the festivities in Tromsø, where H.R.H. Crown Prince Haakan participated, was the best moment. We couldn’t see the crowds, but understood that many people had gathered in the centre of town on this December evening.

Jan-Gunnar will now travel with the Norwegian Prime Minister’s delegation by way of the American research station McMurdo to Christchurch in New Zealand. Harald Dag, Stein and Vegard will head back by way of Union Glacier to Punta Arenas in Chile.

An adventurous journey has come to an end and we want to thank everyone who has followed our progress. Thanks and goodbye!
